University of Central Florida (UCF) students found a perfectly legitimate reason to sport their underwear, and only their underwear, in public. At 6:00 p.m. on April 9, 2010, participants stripped down to their undergarments and bathing suits at the starting line, all in the name of philanthropy.

Look down at your feet. Are you wearing shoes? How much did they cost? What company made them? Now think, who actually made them, and for what price?

According to Jim Keady, over 90% of the things you wear are made in sweatshops around the world. Keady is a human rights activist that is most known for his relentless criticism of the unethical practices of Nike, the leading company in the global sportswear industry. He started his non-profit organization Team Sweat in order to formally address Nike’s ethical standards.

One morning when he was 15, Takeshi shut the door to his bedroom, and for the next four years he did not come out. He didn't go to school. He didn't have a job. He didn't have friends. Month after month, he spent 23 hours a day in a room no bigger than a king-size mattress,where he ate dumplings, rice and other leftovers that his mother had cooked, watched TV game shows and listened to Radiohead and Nirvana. "Anything," he said, "that was dark and sounded desperate."

April 10, 2010 marks an unforgettable day of tragedy in Poland. A plane carrying Poland’s President, Lech Kaczynski, crashed while he was en route to Russia in order to attend a World War II memorial service. BBC News reports that all 96 passengers have been pronounced dead.
