Changing the World One Person at a Time

I always thought that I knew what I wanted to be when I grew up, what I wanted for my future,

But then as I began walking down the path that would lead me to that life,

I realized I was definitely going the wrong way.

It's hard to find out that what you thought was right for so long is wrong;

However, I realized that it took a trip down the wrong road to be redirected to the right one.

Starting out on my new journey, I discovered a lot about myself, things I somehow ignored before.

I discovered that I really wanted to help others, to devote my time, my energy, my skills, and my education that I'm blessed to have to the common good.

This discovery changed my life and transformed me...

Now I'm constantly thinking about other people and their feelings, how I can help those in need and in trouble, and giving people the benefit of the doubt. 

This change that I have experienced not only in career, but in my life, has driven me to take on the goal of being a social worker.

I really do want to help those who are less fortunate and in dire need, 

And I know that by focusing my career on this I can help change the world by helping individuals and changing their lives one at a time. 

If everyone devoted more time to others, to loving more and being more respectful, life would be much easier for everyone.

What I truly want for the future, not just to be successful and happy and find love and have a family, but more than that, is to make the world a better place to live for all...

To help others as much as I can, to protect the environment and our Earth, for there to be peace in the world, and for all to find some sort of peace within their minds and hearts is my greatest hope and dream for the future. 

I know that many people do not find it possible for there to ever be world peace, and for all to coexist and be happy, but I do believe there can be, and I do believe that all are born good and have the ability to love and be peaceful.

I want all of this for the future... for myself to succeed and achieve my goals, to be a social worker, fall in love, have a large happy family, a beautiful house and all of those things, but I also want peace and to help all of those who I can.
