Perseverance: The Game isn't over until it's over

Dear Friend,

I think one of my greatest strengths is my ability to persevere even when a goal of mine is very difficult. I have persevered through sports, academics and life situations. I remember one time when I was in 8th grade and I had recieved a D on a paper. I was shocked and I sis not know what to do. At first I was sad and I just wanted to give up, but then I told my mom and asked her for advice and she told me to try harder on the next assignment and ask my teacher what I could do to improve my grade. Unfortunately, there was no extra credit opportunity, but he assured me that I could bring my grade up by the end of the semester. For the next test, I studied incredibly hard. I knew that I needed to do well in order to get my grade up and I earned 100% on that test. I had persevered through that experience because I did not give up and lose hope when I recieved that D grade. I got up to try again until i succeeded. I ended up with an A- by the end of the semester. This was proof that, with enough effort, I could achieve anything. I am so thankful for this experience because it taught me an important lesson that I still carry with me today. I have persevered through many things in my life and I will continue to do so for the rest of my life.

Sincerely,

Megan
