Hard Work and Happiness: The Happy Medium

Hard Work and Happiness: The Happy Medium

What is My Greatest Strength?

This question is interesting to me, as I see my strengths and weaknesses to be analogous so much of the time. If I had to pinpoint one strength, something I have engrained within me, I would credit my work ethic. Growing up, my parents always taught me the importance of hard work and dedication, assuring me that with both of those things, I was able to achieve whatever I wanted. I very much respect them for these wise words of advice, for it has been my determination and perseverance that helped me arrive where I am today. Yet ironically, this has its downsides, as I often find myself working so hard, and trying to accomplish so much, that I don't take the time to relax, enjoy myself, and appreciate the world around me. My advice is to find a balance between these two essentials. Knowing when to work and when to play is a difficult yet important skill to have. I often struggle with knowing when I need to keep working, and when I have pushed myself too hard, but this is something that will come with practice and experience. Until then, do what you love, work hard and the rewards will follow :)
