My hero is Jackie Robinson. He was the first baseball player to break the color barrier in Major League Baseball in the 1940s. Jackie Robinson set an example of how to play sports with class and determination. I respect his ability to play under pressure. Whenever he was taunted he would ignore it and play on. I cannot even imagine what it would be like to play amongst the insults he must have received. I am a huge Dodgers baseball fan and he is my favorite player of all time. In my everyday life I can try and act with the same courage and self confidence that Jackie had. I block out the insults and what other people think about me.
