Hi again!

I guess I will go onto the next question, who is my hero.  Really, I have two heroes.  The first is my sister.  She is amazing.  She is four years younger than me, but I feel like I have learned alot from her.  She has a learning disability that makes it difficult for her to understand what people are saying if there is a lot of noise around.  In spite of that she has managed to do well in school and is about to graduate college.  But the most impressive thing is her ability to make any situation fun.  I am a fairly quiet person and I tend to get very shy around groups of people, but Kate thrives when she is the center of attention.  She loves to be around people and can make the most of any situation.  It may not seem like the most important quality, but to me it is special.  She has a joy inside her that makes everyone she comes in contact with happy.  You can't help but smile when you are around her. I wish that I could be as free-spirited as she is.

My second hero would be myself.  That may sound strange but I know what I have dealt with in my life and no matter what I have faced I have fought my way through it and back to the top.  When I was younger I had an abusive boyfriend who made me feel like the smallest thing in the world.  At that time I thought there was no hope.  I felt stupid and like I was letting down the whole world.  Fighting my way out of that relationship and moving on from the emotional effects of it made me a much stronger person.  I know now that I am the person I can depend on the most.  I know that in any sitation I can take care of myself and find the light at the end of the tunnel.  Every negative thing that he threw at me I have turned into a postitive.  I am strong, intelligent, kind, and worth loving and the knowing what I went through to get to a place where I can say all those things makes me my own hero.

Who would you consider to be your hero?  I hope this postcard finds you well and I look forward to hearing back from you!
