I have a lot of heroes in my life...my family, my friends, even people I have never met before have inspired me on a daily basis.  If I had to choose one person whom I admire most as a person, it would be my sister Marybeth.  Being five years younger than her, I have always looked up to her in many ways.  As a kid, I used to try to be just like her - dress like her, talk like her, act like her.  Now that I am older though, it is her inner qualities that I have come to admire the most.  She has the most optimistic outlook on life, and sees only the good in people.  She can walk into any room and immediately people are drawn to her, not only because she is beautiful and hilarious, but because she has a spirit in her that is unmatched by most people I know.  She will be 30 in January yet she still has the energy of a kid - even though she can be a little immature sometimes, it is always with an innocent, light-hearted touch.  My other siblings and I jokingly refer to her as the "Golden Child" because she is always the center of attention, but really it is because of her ability to look at any situation in life and examine it in a positive light.  Every time I get upset or angry or stressed out about something, I try to ask myself, "What would Marybeth do in this situation?" and then I re-evaluate the issue at hand with a more optimistic outlook.  Marybeth is an awesome sister and has become one of my best friends.  We are five years apart and live several hours away from eachother but I feel so lucky to be so close with her.  Just as I received her "hand-me-down" clothes as a little girl, I can only hope that, as I get older, some of her wonderful qualities are handed to me as well!
