The Future Is Always Beginning Now

The Future Is Always Beginning Now

I have some big dreams for the future, and I believe that all of it is starting right now all the time. I'm currently an Elementary Education major and dream of teaching as part of my long-term career--but it's not just a career to me. It's something that I'm coming to really call my passion, especially through my work in my student teaching and at the Campus School, a school on the BC campus that serves students from ages 3 to 22 who have physical/mental disabilities. I also have gotten really involved with Relay For Life with the American Cancer Society, an organization that raises money for cancer research and promotes advocacy and awareness. I plan on being involved with ACS and Relay for the rest of my life--already in the past 3 years it's had such a profound impact on me, I could never imagine not being involved. I put the map of the countries of the world because I really want to travel and learn more and more about myself--I've currently never been out of the country, and will have my first trip to Honduras for a service trip this winter break. I'm super excited and I plan on that being one of many countries I will visit over the course of my lifetime. The picture of the beach ties in my hometown of Long Beach on Long Island in New York--I defintely plan on going back to Long Beach for at least a couple years because it's a really important place to me. The photo of myself and my brother and sisters is to represent that the family I grew up with is the type of family I hope to have when I'm older. Having kids is extremely important to me, and I'm so excited to hopefully raise a large family that laughs and loves each other as much as mine does.
