Dreams for the Future

Dreams for the Future

For the cover of my postcard, I chose to use a quote and a picture of  little boy from the Holy Family School, in Natchez Mississippi.  I spent a week in Natchez, Mississippi, teaching lessons to children between the ages of two and five.  My dreams for the future are to teach, so I felt this picture and quote made sense for the question, "what are your dreams?".  While in Natchez, MS, I taught young children, I am hoping that when I am grown up I will teach high school children.  I am planning to teach history, preferably world history.  I want to make a difference in kids' lives.  I want to be a mentor, like my high school teachers who pushed me to be better, not just academically but in all other ways. My dreams for the future are not just limited to teaching.  I want a family, children, a home.  I hope to pursue a higher degree in my field of study, possibly a masters or a Ph.D.  But I also hope that when I grow up, it will not be so planned.  I hope life holds surprises and excitement, not just a path that I do not stray from my whole life.
