Hi there!

Hope you are doing well and that you were able to receive my last postcard! Boston is just starting to welcome fall and it is getting a little bit colder here and the leaves are just starting to change colors - it is very pretty outside my window right now.

There are a lot of important people in my life, but my hero really is my dad. The picture above is of me and my dad when I was seven years old at a family friend's wedding. My dad grew up in a two bedroom apartment in New York City with his mom, dad, and his younger sister. They did not have a lot of money so when my dad went to go to college he had to go to a city university that was free instead of some of the better schools that he got into that were very expensive. However, my dad made a lot out of his life and worked REALLY hard at his jobs and this month he just retired from the job he has had for the past twenty-nine years - a very high level job he has done very well and with a lot of pride and integrity. He made a lot out of himself from pretty meager beginnings and has taught my brother and I many of the same lessons about appreciating what you have and working hard for what you want. He is always very supportive of my brother and I and he is always willing to at least lend an ear to listen, if not help more. He expects a lot out of us, and I think that is part of the reason I work so hard at school. My dad knows I can do it and I want to prove him right. He has taught my a lot of great lessons on how to act as a good person and a good worker and for those reasons, as well as so many others, my dad is my hero.

Hope to hear from you soon!
