Hello again!

Hope you are doing well. It is almost the end of our first semester here at BC, so in a few weeks I will get to go home for a month. I am very excited to get to see my family and my puppy, Peanut. But before then I have a lot of school work to do and a couple of exams. When I finish school in May I am planning to become an elementary school teacher. I have wanted to teach kids since I was very young and used to play school with my cousins. I made my bedroom a classroom and my students were all of my stuffed animals. I even turned my brother's room into the Principal's office. When I came to college in 2004 I entered the Lynch School of Education at BC and besides all of my classes I have taught in 1st grade, 4th grade, and 5th grade classrooms. The picture is of me and my fourth graders mummifying apples. We were learning about Ancient Egypt and doing an experiment trying to see what type of salt would work best for mummification. I want to be a teacher because it is great to see kids learn something new and know that you were the one who made them excited about class and learning. Plus I always learn new things from my students while I am teaching them. They always have very interesting ideas when we have discussions. Even though it is a hard job I love doing it and being in the classroom.

Can't wait to hear from you!

Sincerely,

Jessica
