Mile High Pie 2005-2006

Wanting to do something a little out of the ordinary, my friends and I decided to have a night when we all would eat dinner and then do something New Orleansy afterward. We ended up eating dinner at O'Henry's (where the picture was taken). After eating dinner, we traveled over to the the famous Ponchatrain Hotel on St. Charles Avenue for what is called "mile high pie." This desert is one about a foot tall in height. It is made up of slices of vanilla, chocolate, and peppermint ice cream topped with meringue and a chocolate sauce. My parents used to bring my sister and I there when we were little after special events like recitals or honor roll awards. Some of my friends had never been before so we decided it would be a fun outing. I highly recommend a mile high pie to any tourist looking for a fun adventure in the city of New Orleans.
