Privilege of Fresh Seafood - 2005/2006

There is a place about 45 minutes west of New Orleans called Middendorf’s restaurant in a microscopic town called Manchac, Louisiana. It, in my opinion, is the best restaurant in the greater New Orleans area. It is right on a swamp next to a fishing camp and this location makes them have farm fresh catfish and other fresh seafood. We went there tonight and it was really really great to go back again since we usually go only once a year. Having their shrimp remoulade to start and their thin fried catfish tasted like a million bucks. It just makes me sit and realize how lucky I am to have the privilege to have access to this kind of unique food year round that can’t be found anywhere else. It also makes me appreciate my hometown and makes me proud to be a New Orleanian.
